Tom Vater President of the Bethel Park Soccer Association (BPSA) called the meeting to order at 8:09 PM in the Caucus Room of the Bethel Park Municipal Building. Also present were Dave Conely, Jim Rhoades, Matt Scott, Bob Monte, Tony Bruno, Scott Bradley, Don Snyder, Matt Yee, and Jeff Hulbert.

Secretary’s Report: The minutes were posted on the website and distributed at the meeting. Jim Huber was not able to attend the October meeting and Jim Rhoades took the minutes for the meeting.  Motion was made to approve the minutes by Bob Monte and seconded by Dave Conely. The motion passed unanimously.

Treasurer’s Report: Jim Rhoades stated we have a balance totaling $38,901.34. Jim also noted we received a check from the recreation office for $32,846.00. Tom Vater stated that we do not have that many expenses coming up this fall.

President’s Report: 

·        Tom Vater noted he had no report.

·        Bob Monte asked Tom about the background checks for coaches and Tom stated he would let the board know.

Committees:

Registration -

§         Don Snyder stated the registration for the spring can begin in November 2007.

§         The Spring 08 registration table will be on January 16, 2008.

§         Deadlines for Travel are February 14 and Flights are March 2, 2008.

Communications –

• No Report

Referees –

• Tom Vater stated there will be a referees meeting on November 20, 2007 at the high school.
• Tom also discussed that we are losing referees at the Grade 8 level. Discussion followed.

Travel Commissioner & Registrar –

• Tom Vater will e mail coaches about kids coming back for the Spring 2008 session.

PR/Fundraising –

• Matt Scott reported that pictures for the Flight session went ok, and Travel pictures will be taken this upcoming week.
• Matt also stated he was unsure of the proceeds from the pictures.

Player/Coach Development –

• Bob Monte is checking into an organization that wants to be affiliated with us regarding soccer.

Flights –

• Discussion resumed concerning Flight 5 boys soccer.
• Also there was discussion about slide tackling.   

Fields –

• No Report

Equipment –

• Tony Bruno stated he passed out all t shirts with no complaints.
• We still have three sponsors we have not received checks from for the fall. 

Community Liaison –

• No Report

Website -

• Jim Huber has taken everyone off of the e mails for the board. Only the board officers will get these e mails.
• Matt Scott wants schedules posted on the Web Site so players can possibly play up.

Old Business –

• Tom Vater wanted the board to know that the Elks kick will be at Penn State on November 17, 2007. Also there are two kids from Bethel Park will be going.

New Business –

• Tom Vater appointed Bob Monte to chair the nominated committee for the November meeting. Bob will get the ballots together and they will be nominated in the November meeting. The nominees will be voted on in the December 11, 2007 board meeting.
• Tony Bruno said there is an adult soccer league on Wednesday nights and they are trying to get forty players. The cost is $50.00 per person.
• Matt Scott was wondering if there was any gym time for coaches’ instruction.
• The board agreed to buy Tony Bruno’s kids something for helping with the t shirts for the fall session.

Dave Conley motioned to adjourn the meeting and Matt Yee seconded all in favor meeting adjourned 923PM.
