Terry Bove, President of the Bethel Park Soccer Association (BPSA), called the meeting to order at 7:10pm in the Council Caucus Room of the Bethel Park Municipal Building. Also present were Tom Boss, Rich Chongaway, Tim Gallagher, Jack Kun, Stan Sbei, Russ Spicuzza, Tom Vater, Mark Vescovi, and Theresa Vescovi.
Secretary’s Report: The November meeting minutes were posted on the web site prior to this meeting. No corrections were submitted. The November minutes were officially approved.
Treasurers Report: Jack reported our balance of $29,503.85. He got the final check of about $3900 from Bethel Park Rec. We are double-checking their figures. We are running slightly below our budget figures. Our MLS contract is due, and Jack will be meeting with them soon.
Jack motioned that the projected budget for Jan-Jun of 2004 that was distributed at the October and November meeting be approved. Motion passed.
Registration/Communications: Spring registration will start January 1, 2004 at the Rec Office. Notices of the upcoming session were included in the December issue of school district Rec News, and the Bethel Park Chronicles. The registration table will be January 21, 2004 from 7-830 in Council Chambers. Tom Vater is looking for a volunteer or two to help with the table. Tom will check to see if the Catholic Schools also get the Rec News.
Terry commented that the new Bethel Park Courier is looking for articles. Tom will look into that.
There was also a general discussion about have at least one general mailing for the membership each year.
P.R./Fundraising: Russ reported that the Uniroyal check was for several hundred dollars. He also still has some team pictures. If you haven’t received your team picture, pleas contact him. Also, we haven’t received payment yet from Photography by James for the flight/travel pictures. Also, if you are still missing pictures from the fall, please contact Russ.
Referee: We need a board member or parent to oversee referees. Tom Vater will look into arranging a new referee clinic in January. Jack commented that the clinics require a minimum number of participants, but that we should host one regardless.
We won’t know how many current referees recertified until February.
Website: Mark reported that hits remain high, especially games and ballot. He also changed Jack’s email address; put the ballot on the website; added job descriptions and updated links.
Equipment: Jack again reiterated that we need to return the jerseys that we currently have before the spring session, and prior to getting new jerseys. Repayment by Thread & Pallet is nearly complete. Also, he tried to identify where the corner flags from the fall session were. (If you have a set, please let him know.)
Fields: Tom Boss announced that we would be using Village Green in the spring for flights again. Park Avenue is closed for the winter to give the field a rest.
Also, Terry stated that Eric Young is still looking into using the field in South Park for games.
Player Development: Terry felt that we would again host three camps: Riverhounds, MLS; and Shoot to Score. No dates were available, but the MLS is generally the 1st week in August. Challenge Sport, a new company to our area, is also looking for sites to host camps. PA West is currently offering Magic Moves and Center of Excellences in January. Check the PA West website for more details.
Community Liaison: Terry said that the $8100 Challenge Grant for the scoreboard at Park Ave has been approved. The next meeting is December 18, 2004, at 7pm at the Community Center.

Travel Commissioners: The tabled motion from last meeting about changing the number and duties of the travel commissioners was again discussed. This replaces the previous set-up of commissioners for every two-year age groups. Motion passed.
